They stated that the primary objective of the new scheme is to simplify the tax system for small traders, eliminate complex procedures, and reduce direct contact and unnecessary interference between traders and the FBR. Under the scheme, returns can be submitted in simple Urdu through the relevant app. Traders will be able to download the app, fill out their returns themselves, and pay the due taxes according to the prescribed procedure.
Muhammad Ajmal Baloch stated that the trading community has long been demanding a simple tax system that frees small traders from complex laws, unnecessary notices, and bureaucratic hurdles. Traders should take advantage of this facility and submit their returns before September 30.
Trader leaders said that a trader-friendly and easy tax system will significantly reduce the difficulties faced by the business community. Increasing the tax net is possible not through force or harassment, but through trust, convenience, and a simple process. They noted that reducing unnecessary direct contact between traders and the FBR will also decrease the chances of corruption and discretionary interference.
They further stated that if traders who meet the conditions of the scheme are relieved from the complexities of POS and unnecessary visits by FBR officials to shops and business centers, it will prove to be a significant convenience for the small business sector.
Trader leaders said that trader representatives were consulted in the preparation of the rules and regulations of this scheme, and relevant authorities, including Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kiani, played an important role in this regard. They also demanded that the FBR keep the procedure of the scheme as simple as possible and launch an effective awareness campaign to guide traders across the country.
Trader leaders jointly appealed that all eligible traders should not wait for the deadline, but immediately review the relevant app and the conditions of the scheme, complete their returns, and submit them before September 30 to benefit from the easy tax scheme.
