We have tried to highlight the pain of Kashmiris through paintings: Remarks by Hamid Qaiser and Muhammad Saleem at the event
Islamabad (News Reporter) The images created by students on display at the exhibition present a true and authentic picture of the atrocities faced by the Kashmiri people in occupied Kashmir. Innocent children from educational institutions have given voice to the pain of oppressed Kashmiris in the language of sketches and colors. This effort by the Pakistan Ideology Council and the Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, is commendable. I extend my special thanks to the teams of both institutions. These views were expressed by former President of Azad Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan during the inauguration of the exhibition of student-created paintings held on October 27, Kashmir’s Black Day. Sardar Masood Khan stated that the ideology of Kashmir is, in fact, the foundation of Pakistan. The images in the Council’s permanent Kashmir gallery and the poetry inscribed on them by prominent poets encapsulate the suffering of Kashmiris. I felt very sad while looking at these heartbreaking images. Since the 1940s, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have made countless sacrifices and martyrs during their ongoing struggle. He mentioned that the permanent Kashmir gallery established by the Council, along with the various verses of poets inscribed on the images, is extremely impactful. He suggested that these verses should also be published in book form to convey the message of Kashmiris to the world.
Speaking at the event, Director General of the Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications Muhammad Saleem said that we are extremely grateful to the Pakistan Ideology Council, which provides us this magnificent space free of charge every year, allowing us to organize this photographic exhibition on Kashmir’s Black Day. He stated that every leader of Kashmir, including the chief guest at the event, has made sacrifices for the freedom of Kashmir, which is a bright chapter in our history. He praised the contributions made before the presidency of Azad Kashmir as well as during his tenure as Pakistan’s ambassador. At the beginning of the event, host Hamid Qaiser mentioned that the Council has always strived to hold vibrant events in connection with all national days. Today, we have attempted to highlight the pain of our Kashmiri brothers and sisters to the world through the paintings created by students. It is an honor for us that a prominent Kashmiri leader like Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan inaugurated the exhibition by cutting the ribbon.
At the end of the event, all participants thoroughly inspected the photographic exhibition and expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people. The event was attended by former ambassador and senior member of the Council’s Executive Committee Salahuddin Chaudhry, Director of Admin and Finance Sultan Hamid Malik, Irshad Khokhar, Muhammad Zubair Qureshi, and a large number of colleagues from (DEMP) Director Muhammad Hussain Wazir. Renowned intellectual Syed Zahir Gilani, along with family members and guests from Karachi, also came to see the exhibition. This photographic exhibition is set up in the lobby of the Quaid-e-Azam House and will continue until Sunday.
