Motorway Police Performance in August 2026, Millions of Citizens Benefited

Over 179,000 travelers received timely assistance, valuable items returned to original owners, 12 suspects arrested

Islamabad (Asif Malik) The National Highways and Motorway Police demonstrated remarkable performance during August 2026, providing timely assistance to over 179,000 travelers during their journeys. According to the Motorway Police spokesperson, efforts were made to locate and return valuable items to their original owners, along with a large-scale awareness campaign regarding road safety and traffic laws.

The spokesperson stated that the Motorway Police recovered gold jewelry worth 1.6 million rupees and valuable mobile phones worth 2.146 million rupees, returning them to their original owners. Additionally, 19 missing children were safely reunited with their parents.

To raise awareness about road safety and traffic laws, 280 awareness programs were conducted nationwide, while over 3.036 million citizens were informed about traffic regulations at various toll plazas.

The spokesperson reported that 12 suspects were arrested after thwarting 11 attempts of various crimes on national highways, and they were handed over to the relevant law enforcement agencies for further legal action. During the operation, 300 kilograms of unhealthy meat were also seized, leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The Motorway Police spokesperson stated that the activities and awareness campaigns of the Motorway Police aimed at assisting travelers, ensuring road safety, enforcing traffic laws, and preventing crimes are ongoing continuously.
