A seminar titled “Shaheed-e-Pakistan Hakim Muhammad Saeed: A Multifaceted Personality” was held under the auspices of the Pakistan Association for Eastern Medicine and Hamdard Foundation Pakistan at the Hamdard Center on Murree Road, Rawalpindi. The seminar was presided over by Professor Dr. Hakim Abdul Hanan, President of Paim, with Senator Nasser Mahmood Butt, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Housing and Works, as the chief guest. Hakim Mahboob ur Rehman Qureshi served as the moderator. In his address, the chief guest paid tribute to Shaheed Hakim Muhammad Saeed, stating that he dedicated his entire life to the promotion of traditional healing methods. It is due to his efforts that Unani medicine is now prevalent. He was a great physician, researcher, author, social leader, and a patriotic Pakistani. Hakim Saeed spent every moment of his life serving humanity and contributing to Pakistan’s development. He believed that a healthy individual plays a crucial role in building a strong society. He considered education as the foundation for any nation’s progress and was convinced that no nation can advance without education. He wished for every child in Pakistan to be equipped with the gift of education. He launched the magazine “Hamdard Nounahal” for the education and upbringing of children. The life of Shaheed Hakim Muhammad Saeed teaches us that true greatness lies in knowledge, character, hard work, and service to humanity. President Paim Professor Dr. Hakim Abdul Hanan expressed that Hakim Muhammad Saeed dedicated his entire life to serving humanity, promoting knowledge and literature, advancing Eastern medicine, educating and nurturing children, and contributing to national development. His most significant and grand project was Madinat al-Hikmah, which was not merely a collection of educational institutions but a comprehensive vision for knowledge and research, education and training, culture and civilization, and national development. Shaheed Hakim Muhammad Saeed envisioned an academic center in Pakistan where the new generation would be taught modern sciences along with high morals, character building, patriotism, and service to humanity. Today, it is our responsibility to instill a passion for reading in the new generation and to play our part in elevating Pakistan to the ranks of developed nations in the fields of education and research. During the seminar, Hakim Bashir Bihari, Sajjad Azhar, Tariq Chaudhry, Jameel Mirza, Professor Hakim Merwais, Hakim Yusuf Khaki, and Hakim Mahboob ur Rehman Qureshi paid glowing tributes to Shaheed Hakim Muhammad Saeed, stating that he is among those great personalities who are born once in centuries. Such great figures are not just an asset of one nation or country but become a guiding light for all humanity. We should make their teachings our life’s mission and strive to advance knowledge and service. At the end of the program, Zonal Head of Hamdard Foundation Amanullah Niazi, along with President Paim Professor Dr. Hakim Abdul Hanan and Hakim Bashir Bihari, presented the chief guest with the “Live Long in Safety” shield and offered special prayers for the elevation of Shaheed Hakim Muhammad Saeed’s status and the progress of the Hamdard institution.
