A detainee in a drug case at Adiala Jail died suddenly due to health complications.
Rawalpindi: (Syed Shahid Waheed Hashmi) A 40-year-old detainee, who was imprisoned in a drug case, passed away after his health deteriorated unexpectedly. According to jail officials, the deceased detainee was identified as Owais Ahmed, who was under arrest in a drug case registered at the Jatli police station. Officials stated that Owais Ahmed’s health suddenly worsened in jail, and he was being transported to the hospital via ambulance; however, he succumbed to his condition before reaching the hospital. The police reported that a case was registered against the detainee under Section 9-C of the Drugs Act. Following the incident, relevant authorities have initiated necessary proceedings, and further legal and administrative actions are being taken regarding the causes of the detainee’s death.
