Wah Cantt (Shah Rukh/Tehsil Reporter) The Department of Islamic Studies at the University of Wah organized a two-day academic, intellectual, and training seminar and competitions in connection with the Ashra-e-Rahmat-ul-Alameen ﷺ, which saw enthusiastic participation from students of various colleges and madrasas in Wah Cantt, university faculty, scholars, and prominent personalities from various fields of life. The two-day program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and a Naat in praise of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), followed by welcoming remarks from Professor Dr. Muhammad Rizwan, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Wah. He welcomed the attendees and emphasized the need to study the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and to adopt its teachings in practical life. The central theme of the seminar was ‘Protection, Construction, and Character of the New Generation in the Light of the Prophet’s Life.’ Speakers highlighted that it is essential to seek guidance from the noble character of the Prophet (peace be upon him) to address the intellectual, moral, and social challenges faced by the youth today. The blessed life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) provides an excellent model for the intellectual training, moral development, character building, sense of responsibility, and formation of a balanced personality of the youth. The chief guest and keynote speaker of the seminar, Dr. Hashir Zebairi, co-founder and CEO of Unity International School Islamabad, expressed the importance of the intellectual, moral, and practical training of the youth in the light of the Prophet’s life, stating that the youth are a valuable asset of any society, and their proper training lays the foundation for a bright future. He mentioned that alongside education, training in character, ethics, and responsible behavior is also essential, and the Prophet’s life provides complete guidance in this regard. During the events, competitions for beautiful recitation of the Quran, beautiful Naat, and a quiz on the life of the Prophet were held to highlight the academic and religious capabilities of the students, who participated with great enthusiasm. The judging panel for the competitions included Qari Muhammad Amin Mujaddidi Naqshbandi, Allama Dr. Hafiz Asad Mahmood Abasi, Allama Muhammad Asmat Hazarvi, Muhammad Ashraf Shahzad, and Allama Hafiz Asim Saeed Qadri, while Mahmood Hassan served as the program’s host. In the final session of the two-day events, Professor Dr. Muhammad Rizwan, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, made a special appearance. The closing session was attended by Pir Usman Ali Abasi and Allama Sahibzada Munir Alam Hazarvi as special guests, while social and political figure Raja Tariq Mahmood also participated as a special guest. On this occasion, Professor Dr. Muhammad Rizwan stated that the responsibility of educational institutions is not only to develop academic competence but also to prepare character-driven, conscious, and responsible youth who can play a positive role in the construction of society. He praised the Department of Islamic Studies for organizing such an academic and training activity in connection with the Ashra-e-Rahmat-ul-Alameen ﷺ and congratulated the organizers. Allama Sahibzada Munir Alam Hazarvi highlighted the moral and training aspects of the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He stated that the noble character of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a source of complete guidance for all humanity. If the youth make the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) a practical model for their lives, they can not only refine their personalities but also play an effective role in the reform and construction of society. Social and political figure Raja Tariq Mahmood emphasized that connecting the new generation with their religious, moral, and cultural values is a pressing need of the time, and the role of educational institutions in this regard is crucial. Syed Zameer Hussain Shah Kazmi expressed heartfelt gratitude to all esteemed guests, scholars, faculty, judges, students, and organizers who participated in the program, enhancing its vibrancy and success. At the conclusion of the program, awards, certificates, and shields were distributed to students who demonstrated outstanding performance. Syed Zameer Hussain Shah Kazmi and Qamar Afzal Qadri, who provided services in organizing the event, were also presented with certificates of appreciation by Professor Dr. Muhammad Rizwan, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Dr. Hafiz Shoaib Farooq, Chairperson of the Department of Islamic Studies. Participants praised the efforts of the Department of Islamic Studies at the University of Wah and expressed hope for the continuation of such academic, religious, and training activities in the future.
