Rawalpindi (News Reporter) Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General of the Rawalpindi Development Authority, Salman Ghani, has directed all directorates of the RDA to perform their duties diligently, responsibly, and with commitment, and to be available 24 hours to ensure timely action on public issues and related matters. He instructed the relevant officials to conduct daily field visits to private housing schemes, buildings, and under-construction sites and to effectively monitor the performance and activities of field teams. He stated that the performance of inspection teams should be regularly reviewed to ensure they are effectively and responsibly fulfilling their assigned duties. The Commissioner of Rawalpindi directed that a comprehensive system be established for continuous monitoring of field teams, with clear accountability and responsibility at every level. He made it clear that negligence, absence in the field, or failure to perform assigned duties will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He instructed the officials to strictly enforce approved projects, building regulations, and all other relevant laws and rules. He stated that immediate and strict action should be taken according to the law against any violations identified during field inspections. The Commissioner of Rawalpindi instructed the relevant directorates to maintain a complete and regular record of field inspections and to regularly submit reports regarding inspections conducted, violations identified, and actions taken against them. He said that effective monitoring and timely reporting will enhance transparency, accountability, and the overall performance of the authority’s field activities. The Commissioner of Rawalpindi emphasized the need to improve inter-directorate coordination, strengthen field monitoring, and provide better services to the public, directing all relevant officials to play an active and dynamic role in resolving public issues and regulatory matters. He stated that the RDA’s responsibilities related to regulation, monitoring, and enforcement should be carried out with professionalism, transparency, effectiveness, and a strong sense of public accountability.
