Jeddah (Khalid Nawaz Cheema) The Welfare Wing of the Pakistan Consulate in Jeddah is actively working with renewed commitment and enthusiasm to create new job opportunities for millions of Pakistanis residing in Saudi Arabia, align their skills with the needs of the Saudi market, and provide honorable employment for Pakistan’s skilled youth.
Under the dynamic, community-centered leadership of Consul General Syed Mustafa Rabbani, the Welfare Wing has transformed the promotion of the Pakistani workforce from merely an office responsibility into a national service mission. Continuous communication, meetings, and the search for new opportunities with various Saudi institutions and companies clearly demonstrate that the consulate is taking practical steps to improve the economic future of Pakistani citizens while addressing their issues.
As a significant development in this regard, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), Government of Pakistan, and Andalus Arabia for Medical Services in Saudi Arabia. Consul General Syed Mustafa Rabbani signed on behalf of Pakistan, while Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Saleh, Regional Medical Director of Andalus Arabia, signed on behalf of the company.
This agreement will create opportunities for the recruitment and deployment of qualified Pakistani doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals in Saudi Arabia. Due to Andalus Arabia’s extensive network, which includes 14 hospitals and nearly 200 clinics in Saudi Arabia, a significant increase in employment prospects for Pakistani medical professionals is expected.
The efforts of the Welfare Wing under the leadership of Consul General Syed Mustafa Rabbani reflect the commitment that overseas Pakistanis should not only approach the consulate for solutions to their problems but that the consulate stands by them for their better future, employment, and economic stability. Under his leadership, direct communication with Saudi institutions and the search for new opportunities for the Pakistani workforce have gained significant momentum.
In the Welfare Wing, Consul Welfare Azka Zafar, Zainab Asad, and Aaqif Iqbal are playing active roles in promoting the Pakistani workforce. Particularly, Azka Zafar is continuously active in liaising with Saudi institutions, guiding Pakistani workers, and seeking employment opportunities. Their presence in the field and practical interest indicate that the consulate’s Welfare Wing does not want to limit its service to the Pakistani community to mere paperwork.
Under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, rapid development is taking place in construction, engineering, health, information technology, tourism, hospitality, logistics, aviation, and other sectors, resulting in an increased demand for skilled and trained manpower. At such a time, creating opportunities for Pakistan’s skilled youth in the Saudi market can not only provide employment but also serve as an important means of boosting Pakistan’s economy, foreign exchange, and remittances.
