Daud Khel (Zia Niazi) — A crackdown against controlled drugs in Mianwali has resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of Gabapentin. Under the directives of the Deputy Commissioner of Mianwali, the Chief Drug Controller of Punjab, the Director General of Drug Control Punjab, and the CEO of Health Mianwali, drug inspectors conducted raids on various medical stores and pharmacies. During the operation, inspections were carried out as part of an ongoing campaign against the illegal sale and misuse of controlled drugs, leading to the recovery of a significant amount of Gabapentin capsules.
Due to serious violations, one medical store was sealed, while legal action was initiated against other violating medical stores under the Drug Act of 1976 and the DRAP Act of 2012. Sources indicate that all cases have been forwarded to the District Quality Control Board (DQCB) Mianwali for further legal proceedings. Officials stated that actions against the illegal sale and misuse of controlled drugs will continue indiscriminately.
