RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa directs enhanced security for Chinese nationals, foreign citizens, sensitive installations, and key projects across the region
Rawalpindi (Syed Shahid Waheed Hashmi): A monthly meeting of the Regional Police Coordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Babar Sarfraz Alpa, during which the law and order situation, crime prevention measures, and security arrangements across the region were reviewed in detail.
During the meeting, the RPO directed that extraordinary and foolproof security arrangements must be ensured for Chehlum processions and gatherings, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections, Chinese nationals, other foreign citizens, CPEC projects, and sensitive installations.
He emphasized that all districts and police units should further improve coordination and promote modern policing practices in line with contemporary requirements.
Babar Sarfraz Alpa directed supervisory officers to personally monitor cases related to women and children and ensure that under-investigation cases are brought to their logical conclusion at the earliest. He also instructed authorities to accelerate the arrest of proclaimed offenders, trace absconding suspects in incomplete challan cases, and improve the conviction rate through effective investigations.
The meeting also stressed strengthening action against illegally residing individuals, strict implementation of the Tenant Registration Act, and effective use of the Hotel Eye and Travel Eye software systems.
The RPO ordered increased security measures at inter-provincial and river checkpoints, acceleration of search operations, combing operations, intelligence-based operations, and snap checking. He directed that the security of important installations and Chinese projects must be reviewed on a daily basis, adding that no negligence would be tolerated under any circumstances.
RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa stated that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the foremost priority of Rawalpindi Region Police. He added that the police force remains fully prepared and alert to deal with any possible emergency situation.
He further said that the establishment of the Regional Police Coordination Committee has significantly improved coordination among various institutions, which will further strengthen effective and integrated policing across the region.
