People must choose capable, honest, and patriotic leadership, said the head of the Awami Tehreek Nijat.
Islamabad (City Reporter) The founder and head of Awami Tehreek Nijat, Muhammad Farooq Yaser, stated that nations are built not merely on resources but on awareness, unity, and sincere and honest leadership. To pull the country out of the current crises, the public must move beyond divisive politics and choose capable, honest, and patriotic leadership. Speaking at a press conference at the National Press Club Islamabad, Muhammad Farooq Yaser emphasized that unity is the backbone of any society’s development, and with leadership in the hands of honest, sincere, and capable individuals, the path to progress can be paved despite challenges. He criticized the current political situation, noting that the majority of individuals in politics are more interested in personal gain and wealth accumulation rather than public service. Political party leaders and workers should focus on public issues instead of character assassination and criticizing opponents. Muhammad Farooq Yaser remarked that much of the legislation over the past few decades has primarily aimed at protecting the interests of the political elite or their families, while insufficient attention has been given to creating long-term policies to provide real relief to the public and strengthen the country. He described education as a fundamental necessity for national development, stating that countries that have invested in their human resources have rapidly progressed. Pakistan must also prioritize and improve its education system, as an aware and educated nation can lead the country towards development. He pointed out that the people of Pakistan are facing inflation, unemployment, poverty, and other issues, while the burden of debt on the country continues to grow. If the public wants to see change, they must take two fundamental steps: unite by putting aside their differences and bring forward sincere, honest, and capable leadership. He noted that the public often gives a chance to another political representative after one fails, thus repeatedly revolving around the same individuals. It is essential to elect those who genuinely possess the spirit of public service and national development. Muhammad Farooq Yaser stated that there are good, sincere, and honest people in every region and class who want to work for the country, and the public should encourage such individuals and provide them opportunities to step forward. Regarding the military, the head of Awami Tehreek Nijat expressed his love for Pakistan’s army and acknowledged its crucial role in the country’s defense. He stated that the military is the protector of the country; however, its role in political matters should remain within constitutional and national interests. He added that if politicians fail to resolve public issues and advance the country, national institutions should play their constitutional role to ensure national stability. Muhammad Farooq Yaser mentioned that the name ‘Nijat’ was chosen thoughtfully, as the public seeks relief from inflation, unemployment, insecurity, crime, and other difficulties. The purpose of Awami Tehreek Nijat is to struggle against these issues and serve the public. The party’s primary goal is not to oppose any specific political party but to find solutions to public problems and foster national development. In the event of gaining power and public mandate, the movement will take practical steps to address public issues. He expressed his commitment that if given the opportunity, Awami Tehreek Nijat will take practical measures for the country’s development, public prosperity, and resolution of fundamental issues, and this will be demonstrated through performance rather than mere words.
