Saudi Arabia announces a grant of 150 million rupees for the development of the educational infrastructure of the International Islamic University Islamabad.

Islamabad (Staff Reporter) On the occasion of Saudi National Day celebrations, the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced a developmental grant of 150 million rupees for the modernization and development of the educational infrastructure of the International Islamic University Islamabad.

This grant is a significant advancement in the ongoing efforts of the university’s President, Professor Dr. Ahmed Saad Al-Ahmad, aimed at improving educational and student facilities and transforming the university into a modern, technology-equipped institution.

In the first phase of this initiative, the Saudi grant will be used to modernize classrooms, computer laboratories, information technology systems, and associated educational facilities across the university. This initiative will address the long-standing need for modern teaching spaces and technical infrastructure that can meet evolving educational and research demands.

An important aspect of the project is the establishment of a dedicated smart classroom in each faculty, equipped with an interactive smart board, digital podium, and Wi-Fi connectivity, accommodating up to 30 students. Additionally, five computer laboratories will be established, providing 55 workstations and a total of 220 computer systems, including desktops, VDI systems, and laptops. These facilities will be complemented by a CCTV system, furniture, curtains, and other necessary equipment and decorative enhancements.

The grant is expected to significantly enhance the teaching and learning environment at the university by providing students and faculty with greater access to modern digital resources, improved laboratories, and technology-equipped effective classrooms.

It is noteworthy that this initiative is part of a broader improvement campaign that the Acting Rector and President, Professor Dr. Ahmed Saad Al-Ahmad, has personally pursued over the past year, focusing on student welfare and the quality of facilities available to the university community. Through regular visits to hostels and educational spaces and direct engagement with students, the university president has sought to understand the challenges faced by students and has prioritized practical measures to address long-standing infrastructure needs.

While the phased renovation of student hostels is already underway, the modernization of classrooms and computer laboratories represents another significant step in this direction, reflecting the university president’s ongoing commitment to bringing meaningful and constructive changes in the interest of students. Securing a grant of 150 million rupees from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia marks a major advancement in these efforts and reflects the continuous endeavors of the university president to gain support for the development of the university alongside his team.
