Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani invited Qatari investors to take advantage of investment opportunities in Pakistan, highlighting vast potential in various sectors including tourism, agriculture, and energy, Sheikh Naif bin Eid Al Thani.
Islamabad (Izhhar Khan Niazi) – Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani met with a high-level delegation from Qatar, led by prominent businessman and senior royal family member Sheikh Naif bin Eid Al Thani. The Senate Chairman warmly welcomed the Qatari delegation and emphasized the need to further strengthen the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and Qatar.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani stated that the relationship between Pakistan and Qatar is based on shared history, culture, religion, and mutual interests, and stressed the need to enhance trade links between the two countries. He urged for elevating bilateral relations to new heights through trade, investment, and social and political cooperation.
The Senate Chairman also briefed the Qatari delegation about the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference, which focuses on “Peace, Security, and Development” in the context of the current global environment. He noted that he initiated this conference as the founding chairman and appreciated the participation of Qatar’s esteemed speaker in the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference held in Islamabad.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani highlighted Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace and dialogue at the global and regional levels, praising the significance of the Makkah Agreement for fostering unity, peace, and stability among Muslim countries. He also commended Sheikh Naif bin Eid Al Thani for his business acumen and efforts to enhance economic and trade relations between Pakistan and Qatar.
The Senate Chairman invited Qatari investors to take advantage of investment opportunities in Pakistan, stating that there are vast possibilities for investment in tourism, agriculture, energy, and other mutually beneficial sectors. He expressed that Pakistan is keen to further expand economic cooperation with Qatar.
Sheikh Naif bin Eid Al Thani thanked the Senate Chairman for the warm hospitality and praised Pakistan’s role in promoting peace, dialogue, development, and regional cooperation. He also emphasized the importance of the Makkah Agreement, expressing hope that it would contribute to stability, security, and unity in the Muslim world.
The Qatari delegation expressed keen interest in exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan and stressed the importance of strengthening relations between the two countries through trade, investment, and mutual cooperation. Sheikh Naif bin Eid Al Thani also highlighted the significance of providing further facilities and cooperation for the Pakistani community residing in Qatar.
Also present at the meeting was the Senate Chairman’s advisor and ambassador for the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference, Misbah Khar.
