The police took a young girl who arrived in Dunyapur from Lahore into custody and handed her over to her parents, who had already informed the Lahore police about their daughter’s disappearance.
Dunyapur (Correspondent) After claiming that a friendship formed on TikTok had turned into love, a young girl from Lahore traveled hundreds of kilometers to reach Dunyapur without informing her parents. However, she was unable to meet her alleged lover at Dakohta Chowk. Upon receiving the information, the police took the girl into custody, contacted her parents, and safely returned her after completing legal formalities.
According to sources, the young girl from Lahore befriended a young man from Dunyapur on TikTok, which allegedly turned into love over time. The two continued to communicate and make promises, after which the girl decided to meet the young man without informing her parents and traveled from Lahore to Dunyapur.
When the girl arrived at Dakohta Chowk in Dunyapur, she found that the young man she was supposed to meet was not present. Noticing the girl alone at the chowk, local residents informed the police, who promptly arrived at the scene and took the girl into custody.
After obtaining information from the girl, the police contacted her parents, who revealed that they had already reported their daughter’s sudden disappearance to the Lahore police. The Dunyapur police summoned the parents and, after completing necessary legal procedures, safely returned the girl to them.
An interesting aspect of the incident emerged when it was found that the young man the girl had traveled to Dunyapur to meet had allegedly turned off his mobile phone after her arrival, preventing any meeting from taking place.
DPO Lodhran Benish Fatima praised Lady Sub-Inspector Hira Zulfiqar for her timely action in safely returning the young girl to her parents and rewarded her for her performance.
The DPO urged parents to stay informed about their children’s online activities, educate them about the safe and responsible use of social media, and to communicate with their children in a friendly manner about any suspicious online friendships or contacts to protect them from potential dangers.
