In 8 operations, drugs worth over 2.121 billion rupees and 364.6 kilograms of narcotics were seized, including a large quantity of hashish, heroin, ice, and opium.

Rawalpindi (Asif Malik) – The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested 8 suspects during a crackdown against drug smuggling in various cities across the country, seizing a total of 364.6 kilograms of narcotics valued at over 2.121 billion rupees.

According to the ANF, 330 grams of ice and 270 grams of heroin were found in the bag of a passenger heading to Jeddah at Peshawar Airport. During a search of a rickshaw near the Sangjani Toll Plaza, 52.8 kilograms of hashish and 5.4 kilograms of opium were seized, leading to the arrest of 2 suspects.

Near Kot Lakhpat Lahore, 6 kilograms of opium were recovered from 2 suspects on a motorcycle, while in Hyderabad, 3.6 kilograms of hashish were found in the possession of a passenger.

During a vehicle search near Mandi Mor Islamabad, 1.2 kilograms of hashish and 1 kilogram of ice were seized, resulting in the arrest of 2 suspects.

The ANF also recovered 150 kilograms of heroin in an operation near the Western Bypass Quetta, while 144 kilograms of hashish were seized from a vehicle near Shakas Jamrud in Khyber District.

In another operation in Kot Lakhpat Lahore, 8.4 kilograms of hashish hidden inside an inverter at a courier office were also recovered.

According to an ANF spokesperson, cases for all operations have been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act of 1997, and further investigations have commenced. Actions against individuals involved in drug smuggling and illegal trafficking will continue without discrimination.
