*CDA’s Comprehensive Measures Continue to Prevent Dengue and Protect Citizens’ Lives in Islamabad*

Islamabad (Staff Reporter) The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has intensified comprehensive operations across Islamabad to prevent dengue and control vectors, aiming to curb the spread of dengue and ensure the protection of citizens’ valuable lives. By the grace of Allah, as of September 9, 2026, during epidemic week number 37, the dengue situation in Islamabad is under control.

Approximately 300 field personnel in Islamabad are actively engaged in eliminating dengue mosquito breeding and vector control operations, while over 600 personnel are serving in rural areas. Field teams are conducting extensive surveillance, identifying breeding sites, and taking immediate action to eliminate them.

In Islamabad, around 1,240,440 surveillance activities have been carried out, while 582,680 homes and 4,006,378 indoor containers have been inspected. A total of 142,379 larvae have been eliminated from indoor containers, and 40,054 breeding sites have been identified within municipal limits.

Overall, 142,379 larvae have been identified and eliminated in urban areas, while 66,758 larvae have been identified and eliminated in rural areas. Breeding sites in residential areas, commercial locations, and previously identified sensitive sites are being eradicated through mechanical methods and appropriate larval control measures.

CDA teams are continuously monitoring and surveilling high-risk areas, with special attention being given to standing water, residential areas, commercial sites, vacant plots, and other potential mosquito breeding locations.

The CDA has also appealed to citizens to cooperate fully with field teams and to ensure that no water accumulates in their homes, rooftops, gardens, pots, various containers, and surrounding areas. Citizen cooperation is crucial for effective and sustained dengue prevention.

The CDA will continue robust surveillance and protective operations during the high-risk season to ensure timely identification of dengue, immediate elimination of breeding sites, and maximum protection for citizens.
