Daud Khel (Zia Niazi) – The construction of the Daud Khel Kalabagh Road, costing millions of rupees, has been completed, but the Highway Department remains unresponsive, resulting in poor and incomplete road work. The road from Daud Khel Bridge to Mari Indus Railway Bridge was built at a cost of 820 million rupees, but a safety wall has not been constructed near Canal Colony, and there are deep ditches on both sides that could lead to a major fatal accident at any time. This road, which connects Daud Khel to Kalabagh, was constructed during the previous government. On this road, a river check post is located from Wanda Kakar Nawala Mari to Railway Kalabagh Bridge.
Protection divider blocks have been constructed along the road to prevent any vehicle from falling into the deep ditch below. The contractor has installed these protection divider blocks at the mentioned location; however, deep ditches remain on both sides of the road near Canal Colony Daud Khel, and there is also a cricket ground on one side where young people play cricket. The contractor was supposed to build protection divider blocks on both sides of the road in this area, but they have not been constructed.
This negligence could lead to traffic accidents due to speeding or loss of control at any time. Heavy trailers from factories pass through this area, especially since there is a turn here. DC Mianwali Shahid Abbas Khatia should take immediate notice and issue orders to the Highway Department to install protection divider blocks on the Mianwali Kalabagh Road near Canal Colony Daud Khel.
This will help prevent vehicles from falling into the ditch during any traffic accident and save precious lives from being lost in a timely manner. It is hoped that the Deputy Commissioner will give special attention to this important issue.
