Defense and Martyrs Day: A Solemn Ceremony in Gujar Khan to Honor Martyrs

Gujar Khan (Sanober Kiani) A solemn ceremony was organized in Gujar Khan under the auspices of the Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society to commemorate Defense and Martyrs Day, where a heartfelt tribute was paid to all martyrs, including Shaheed Naik Muhammad Aksar, who sacrificed his life for the defense of the homeland during the 1965 war in the Chawnda sector. The event was attended by former military officers, political and social figures, families of martyrs, and individuals from various walks of life. Participants declared that the survival of the nation, national security, and sovereignty are the fruits of the great sacrifices made by the martyrs of Pakistan, stating that the brave sons who laid down their lives for the defense of the homeland are the true heroes of the nation, and their sacrifices will always be remembered. Speaking at the event, Commodore (R) Arshad Mahmood Khan stated that the nation breathes freely today due to the sacrifices of the martyrs, who did not hesitate to give their lives for the defense of the homeland. Lieutenant General (R) Sajjad Haider remarked that whenever the homeland called, the brave sons of the Pothohar region offered their blood and wrote an immortal chapter in the history of homeland defense with their sacrifices. Abdullah Hamid Gul, a leader of the Pakistan Youth Movement, said that due to the sacrifices of the martyrs, the nation now lives with dignity and honor, and their sacrifices are a precious asset of our national history. Chairman of Pakistan Sweet Homes, Zamarud Khan, stated that the land of Pothohar has always produced brave sons who have sacrificed for the homeland, and the youth here have played a significant role in the defense of the country during every difficult time. Provincial Assembly member Ziaullah Shah said that during difficult times, the entire nation stood with the Pakistan Army, and the youth demonstrated unparalleled bravery, thwarting the enemy’s designs. The speakers emphasized that Defense and Martyrs Day is not just a national day but an opportunity to renew the pledge that no sacrifice will be spared for the security, sovereignty, and defense of the country. They stated that the families of the martyrs are respected by the entire nation, and the best way to pay tribute to their sacrifices is to demonstrate national unity, discipline, and responsibility to make Pakistan strong, stable, and prosperous. At the conclusion of the ceremony, special prayers were offered for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs of Pakistan, as well as for the security, stability, and development of the country.
