Islamabad Police Holds Awareness Seminar on Women’s Safety and Personal Security at Islamabad Model School for Girls

Police officers educate teachers and students on personal safety, emergency response, and timely communication with law enforcement

Islamabad (Crime Reporter): Islamabad Police organized an awareness seminar on women’s safety and personal security at Islamabad Model School for Girls, where teachers and students were educated on personal safety measures, responsible behavior in daily life, and the importance of contacting the police promptly in emergency situations.

The seminar was addressed by Superintendent of Police (SP) City Zone Dr. Ayaz Hussain, SHO Women Police Station Misbah Shehbaz, and SHO Industrial Area Police Station Ishtiaq Shah. The speakers provided valuable guidance on personal security, safe practices, identifying suspicious activities, and the appropriate steps to take in the event of an emergency.

Addressing the participants, SP City Zone Dr. Ayaz Hussain said that the safety and security of women and female students remain among the top priorities of Islamabad Police. He urged students to remain vigilant about their surroundings, avoid placing unnecessary trust in strangers, and immediately inform the police of any suspicious individuals, activities, or situations.

He further emphasized that in emergency situations, it is essential to remain calm and make timely and informed decisions rather than panic. He encouraged students to maintain regular communication with their parents, teachers, and the police, and to report any issue promptly instead of concealing it, enabling law enforcement agencies to take effective action.

SHO Women Police Station Misbah Shehbaz briefed participants on the challenges commonly faced by women, the procedures for contacting the police, and the support services available to women through Islamabad Police. She also highlighted her distinction as the first female Station House Officer (SHO) to head a regular police station in Islamabad, describing it as a reflection of the growing leadership and professional role of women within the Islamabad Police.

The seminar aimed to raise awareness among female students about personal safety, enhance their confidence, and strengthen cooperation between the police and the community. Participants described the session as informative and beneficial and appreciated Islamabad Police’s continued efforts to promote women’s safety and public awareness.
