Dawoodkhel (Zia Niazi) – The Managing Director of Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC), Engineer Asad Ahmed, made an important visit to the Kalabagh project. He was accompanied by Syed Rashid Ali, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Sajid Hussain, AVP HR & Procurement. Upon arrival at the PMDC office, Project Manager Farakh Timor, Shoaib, Hafiz Saeed, other officials and staff, and IWT warmly welcomed him. During this occasion, Managing Director Engineer Asad Ahmed also formally inaugurated the newly renovated office and guest house of the project manager. Important matters were discussed in detail with senior officials of IWT, and a significant agreement regarding the future of the project was also finalized. Later, the MD, along with other officials, visited the selected site for the proposed salt grinding plant in the Mari section and the platform constructed by NLC. Furthermore, an important meeting was held at the guest house with contractors of the salt mines, attended by Project Manager Farakh Timor, Shoaib, Hafiz Saeed, and relevant officials. The meeting involved detailed discussions on various important issues including salt production, transportation, challenges faced by contractors, cooperation, and future action plans. The meeting with the salt mine contractors was conducted in a very positive and pleasant atmosphere. Open discussions were held on all relevant matters, and it was mutually agreed to further organize, enhance, and improve salt production and related activities to successfully achieve the project’s objectives. During the visit, the administration also focused on ensuring the practical and successful implementation of the project, increasing production, and improving coordination among relevant institutions. Overall, Managing Director of PMDC Engineer Asad Ahmed’s visit was extremely important, beneficial, and encouraging; he also announced the establishment of a filtration plant in Wandha Kakar Nawala, which has created new hope for furthering cooperation between IWT and PMDC and advancing the salt project more effectively.
