Meeting of PFUJ Delegation with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Discussion on amendments to the PECA Act and various issues related to the protection of journalists

Islamabad (Sardar Yousaf Khan) – A delegation from the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), led by President Afzal Butt, met with Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The delegation included former PFUJ Secretary General Mazhar Abbas and President of the Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists Asif Bashir Chaudhry.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on amendments to the PECA Act, the protection of journalists, and various issues related to press freedom. The delegation informed about the challenges faced by journalists and their stance on the protection of freedom of expression in the current circumstances.

Senator Sherry Rehman, Shazia Marri, Waqar Mehdi, Masroor Ahsan, Sarmad Ali, and other leaders were also present alongside Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The meeting also addressed various proposals for the protection of journalists’ rights and the promotion of press freedom.
