Murree (Crime Reporter) DPO Murree Raza Tanveer Supra informed media representatives about the overall performance of Murree Police during 2026, the crime situation, and the measures taken for the protection of citizens and tourists during a press conference at Jinnah Hall Murree. Representatives from various TV channels, newspapers, and other media organizations attended the press conference. DPO Murree reported that this year, 30 suspects were named in 9 murder cases, of which 19 were arrested, while 5 children were recovered in 5 abduction cases. Similarly, several suspects were arrested in cases of robbery, theft, mobile phone, and vehicle theft, with stolen property recovered. He stated that during the ongoing crackdown against drug dealers, 116 cases were registered in 2026, leading to the arrest of 129 suspects, from whom 75 kilograms and 5 grams of hashish, 140 liters of alcohol, and 22 grams of ice were recovered. In operations against illegal weapons, 53 cases were registered, resulting in the arrest of 61 suspects. According to the DPO, actions against proclaimed offenders and judicial absconders also continued, during which 75 proclaimed offenders and 40 judicial absconders were arrested. Raza Tanveer Supra mentioned that a total of 28,551,124 vehicles entered the Murree district in 2026. The Murree Police provided a safe and peaceful travel environment for citizens and tourists through effective traffic management, guidance, patrolling, and security measures. He said that the Safe City Project, the effective use of modern cameras, patrolling, and modern technology are ongoing for the protection of citizens and tourists. Facilities such as the Safe Tourism Murree App, WhatsApp Service, and Text to DPO have also been provided for the convenience of tourists. The DPO further stated that open courts are being held for the immediate resolution of public issues, and recruitment for 179 new positions has been made to strengthen the policing system in the new Murree district. He emphasized that the Murree Police is utilizing all available resources to protect the lives and property of citizens and tourists, maintain law and order, ensure smooth traffic flow, and promote safe tourism.
