Police have arrested a citizen for making a bogus call about snatching on the emergency helpline 15.

Rawalpindi: (Syed Shahid Waheed Hashmi) The New Town police apprehended a person who made a false call reporting a snatching incident and registered a case against him. According to the police, the suspect called the emergency helpline 15 and reported that two individuals had snatched a bag from him, which contained two mobile phones and cash. Upon receiving the information, the New Town police promptly arrived at the scene and began investigating the incident. The police stated that during the initial investigation, the alleged snatching incident was found to be untrue, and it turned out to be a matter of a financial transaction between the parties involved. The police took legal action against the individual who provided the false information and arrested him. SP Rawal Bedar Bakht Gondal stated that the emergency helpline 15 is a crucial means for citizens to receive immediate police assistance in emergencies, and its misuse is unacceptable under any circumstances. He added that legal action will be taken against those who mislead the police by making bogus or false calls.
