Kahuta (Raja Usman Ali) – A protest program and press conference were held to express strong concerns regarding the new constituency delimitations in the Kahuta Tehsil. Political and social figures, public representatives, local government officials, lawyers, journalists, dignitaries, and individuals from various walks of life participated in the event. During the occasion, Sardar Timor Aslam, Advocate Supreme Court, stated that any form of discrimination against the people of Kahuta and Kohsar is unacceptable. The public will raise their voices on every legal and democratic forum to protect their fundamental and constitutional rights. He emphasized that Kahuta, Murree, and Kotli Sattian are declared national park areas; if the populations of union councils in Murree and Kotli Sattian can be maintained between six to nine thousand, then the reasons for depriving Kahuta of this standard should also be made clear. The speakers demanded that the new constituency delimitations consider population ratios and administrative principles. Participants stated that the populations of Kahuta’s union councils should be arranged in a suitable proportion to revise the new delimitations so that the people of any area are not deprived of their rightful representation. The speakers remarked that this issue is not about any political party, community, or group, but rather about the collective rights and public interest of Kahuta. People from all areas and communities must unite above regional biases and personal interests. Participants announced that they will continue their legal and constitutional struggle until their demands are met, and they will also raise their voices on relevant forums, including approaching the court against the new delimitations. The speakers demanded that, considering Kahuta’s status as a national park declared area, appropriate rights, facilities, and administrative relief should be provided similar to other Kohsari areas. Participants expressed their commitment that peaceful, legal, and democratic efforts for Kahuta’s rights will continue at all levels, and they will not back down until the public’s legitimate demands are recognized.
