President of the Traders Association Liaquat Road Rawalpindi, Sheikh Abdul Wahid, stated that the continuous rise in petroleum prices has further exacerbated the difficulties faced by the public and the business community.

In his significant statement, he mentioned that increases in the prices of petrol and diesel directly affect transportation, food items, raw materials, and other business expenses, resulting in the burden of inflation being transferred to the common citizen. Restaurants, small businesses, and traders are finding it increasingly difficult to continue their operations under the current circumstances. Sheikh Abdul Wahid urged the government to seriously consider the heavy taxes and levies imposed on petroleum products and the continuous price hikes. The public is already under severe pressure from inflation, and any further increase will severely impact their purchasing power. He demanded that the government take immediate steps to reduce the prices of petroleum products, lessen the burden of taxes and levies, and provide genuine relief to the public and the business community to help control inflation and promote business activities.
