Islamabad (Crime Reporter) The traffic police has released its performance report for the month of August. The Islamabad Traffic Police has disclosed the actions taken against traffic violations and road safety awareness activities during August. According to the report, effective enforcement and special crackdowns were conducted in various areas of the city to prevent traffic violations and improve traffic flow on the roads.
Details indicate that during August, the Islamabad Traffic Police took legal action against over 72,000 citizens for violating traffic laws. More than 13,000 actions were taken for lane violations, over 5,000 for wrong-way driving, more than 10,000 for illegal parking, and over 5,300 for riding motorcycles without helmets. During this period, over 7,000 vehicles and motorcycles were impounded at various police stations for traffic violations. Effective actions were also taken against vehicles with tinted windows and rickshaws entering the limits of Islamabad. Instead of limiting itself to enforcement, the Islamabad Traffic Police also made significant efforts to raise awareness among citizens regarding traffic laws and road safety. During August, over 130,000 citizens were educated about traffic laws, road safety, and responsible driving, including employees of private and public institutions, students from educational institutions, and students from road education driving schools. Chief Traffic Officer of Islamabad, Kainat Azhar Khan, stated that equal attention is being given to both enforcement and awareness to ensure compliance with traffic laws. Efforts to discourage traffic violations, prevent accidents, ensure safe travel for citizens, and improve traffic flow will continue to be carried out effectively. He urged citizens to fully comply with traffic laws, maintain lane discipline, ensure the use of helmets while riding motorcycles, and demonstrate responsibility and caution on the roads. Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar Khan emphasized that providing a safe and better travel environment is the top priority of the Islamabad Traffic Police. All possible measures are being taken to eliminate traffic violations, promote road safety, and further organize and enhance the traffic system in the federal capital.
